For dogs ready to start agility, the next evaluation is Sunday, January 17 at 6:00pm.  The fee is $15 per dog and pre-registration is required.  Registration forms with payment must be submitted no later than January 13 to confirm your spot. 

Preference will be given to dogs that attend the group evaluation so we can make sure your dog can focus with distractions.  If you can't make it, you may schedule a private evaluation for $30 to determine if your dog is ready for group agility classes.

Classes will be held Sundays at 8:00pm (Donna Ward) or Wednesdays at 7:30pm (Suzi Nelson) starting in February for those dogs accepted into the program. 

Note:  It is likely that we'll have more applications than spaces available.  Dogs that seem the most prepared, based on the criteria below, will earn class spots.

At the evaluation, we are primarily interested in:

Does your dog know sit, down, and stay with distractions?

Can your dog focus on you with distractions?  Can they recover (return to you quickly) if they are distracted by something?  Will your dog come when called?

Does your dog know any tricks?  We'd love to see them!  This shows that you can be a good teacher for your dog and that your dog likes to learn.  It also demonstrates that you are willing to train your dog outside of class time.

Your dog should be pleasant or respectful around other dogs.  We like dogs to be friendly but not overbearing! 

Does your dog like food or toys?  We need a dog that is motivated by something we can control.  It is hard to train a dog who turns away from food or won't play.

Is your dog in reasonable physical condition?  Agility is a sport and dogs must be in good shape and not overweight before we ask them to perform the athletic maneuvers required.
