We also picked up our numbers (it was a vest, as seen in the photo below), and had the vet check, which was minimal. They briefly looked at our paperwork and that was about it. They didn't even check Hemi's tattoo or her microchip.
We also did other normal dog show things like finding a crating spot, setting up our stuff, figuring out the lay of the land. (i.e. where are the porta potties!). There were four rings, so we also figured out which ring was which and the best route to get there from the crating area. We were set up ringside, in a little channel with bushes in front of us and behind. Someone located a few shade tents, which were welcome in the very hot Italy summer.
Then it was time to head to the hotel and rest up for the competition starting on Saturday morning!
