We spent about five days in Tuscany, 30 minutes outside of Florence. The place we stayed in was lovely, but we didn't get to use the pool very much because it was always filled with loud, splashing French children.
JP did daily bike rides in the surrounding hills, only getting lost one time. I read books and went into the various nearby towns to window-shop and take pictures.
On JP's birthday, we went into Florence,
had a nice lunch and ate gelato at a place called
Perche No -- a.k.a. Why Not?
One day we went on a wine tour and we discovered
